Thanks, everyone. As you might notice, it's foggy here right now. And freezing. How does freezing fog even work? I do not know, but there it is. It leaves a rather pretty coating of "snow" on everything (you can see it on the trees near the bottom; it's on everything by now, even the blades of grass...

With banishing a pledge, you expect the frat warrior outfit in the house in about 6-7 turns with +100% items (you need 3 drops, but each one has a chance each turn; 5 sergeants expected, 1 banish, roughly 1 noncombat). You expect at least 4 turns per spy in the camp, and are running more like +80% i...

Re: Raccoon's thread of ethical dilemmas

By the time I made it to this thread, the discussion seems pretty well flushed out. Hopefully I make it in time for the next question ;) Okay . . . next question. You arrive in a hotel late at night. You are hungry but the late night room service offerings are expensive and not very tempting. Howev...

Re: Raccoon's thread of ethical dilemmas

My ethical dilemmas usually concern one issue, with only minor variations: "An adult (think 25-35 years old) graduate student with a family (think kids ages 2-12) is caught cheating on a major project or exam. How far do you pursue the case, understanding that you might ruin their already establish...

Re: Raccoon's thread of ethical dilemmas

For what it's worth, I think that ethical questions with premises outside of reality are inherently "unfair". (Premises such as, say, assuming the mother will never change and doesn't give a rat's ass about her child.) They don't translate well to reality because reality is full of shades of gray. ...

Re: Getting into the Bedroom (HC)

My biggest issue however is MAINTAINING said buffs over the needed period to hit lv. 6... typically for sewer-leveling it takes me between 12-15 turns (WITHOUT mainstat buffs) to hit 6 from starting. This I could see taking closer to 20... how are we supposed to maintain that mainstat after our buf...

Would goofballs really be worth it? The withdrawal the next day is kind of harsh.

Extirpator's HCNP TT 4/763 (Mongoose) -- Now with comments!

I don't have the time right now to comment much, so I'll mostly just be pasting the parsed log. When I find the time I'll start doing some actual commenting. EDIT: Commented now. Goal was a 4-day TT run, though if I saw a 5-day run coming at me before I consumed Karma I would have been fine with tha...

Re: Introductions...

I got my Ph.D. while procrastinating with KoL. Mostly. I did disappear for a year or so to "focus" on my studies. But mostly it was just procrastinating. Good times, good times.

1) Good, makes that something I won't have to worry about in the future :) I'm not sure exactly what he meant, but you can zap for (both) frat outfits. You're just not guaranteed to get a piece you're missing, since there are three pieces. When you have a spare zap but couldn't YR for the outfit it...

Re: LotsOfPhil SCNP PM - Wallaby

The spirits were because my spells had a run of going physical. Next time I do this I'll have Flavour and will be fine. I really wish they'd make it so PM spells and the Penguin Goodfella wouldn't do physical damage to the spirits. They fixed the pumpkin bucket not to do that, why haven't these bee...
