Re: Board Games

My coworker got the KoL board game and I played it today. I enjoyed it! Pretty solid deckbuilding game, although I got screwed a couple of times by not drawing enough myst in some hands to cast my buffs. I guess that's where strategic discarding comes in. I don't understand the Sansa hate. Sure she was spoiled and bitchy at first, but once she got out of King's landing her storyline has been one of the best. I'm really hoping that she starts to engineer a coup in the Veil.

It's unlikely that I will participate this year. I am already in 2 leagues - one on CBS and one on Yahoo - and playing 3 leagues on 3 different sites is tiresome. I tried to get the Yahoo league to move (I really hate Yahoo) but it was to no avail.

I have also played it and it was very funny. Gameplay is just like Apples to Apples, but the most offensive thing in Apples to Apples is probably the least offensive thing in Cards Against Humanity. I don't think it has quite as much replay value, though.

While both the books and the TV show have their merits, when the TV show deviates from the book, I often prefer the show's version.
