Re: How i mine 4 fish? (returning to Hardcore advice)

Do the Alley with +NC for the Hobo. All the NCs are skippable, and one of them gives you the Hobo. Worst case scenario is you have to fight a couple monsters, but it's going to be quicker than the Pantry. I use the Goth Kid in the Haunted Kitchen, Haunted Bedroom, and the Hidden Office Building as w...

Very nice run! I've noticed the lack of good Wink targets as well; one I thought of was a pygmy witch surgeon, which allows you to get all the outfit pieces ahead of time and avoid the other mobs in there, but that's not very useful. As for your sculptures, have you considered putting the bandit for...

Do free fights and runaways count as combats in the "combat vs. noncombat" queue matrix, or whatever, and so are also useful anytime you are loitering in a zone waiting for a particular noncombat? Which reminds me - when burning delay, do you put runaways first until they're all gone because they're a sure thing, or put goth fights first because they're such good free stats, also thus saving runaways for areas without delay where you just want a particular drop and can't banish? So, clearly, one of the main challenges in HCO is fitting in all the different familiar turns: using all the boot runaways, getting all the free combats and wandering copies, and somewhere in there getting a psych jar and DD drops once per run, and 3 spleen drops per day. Nice run! It seems like you're picking up a lot, based on your last few runs. It seems to me that Seal Clubber is one of the trickier CA2 classes. I only played 7 Wonders once or twice, but I had a lot of fun with it. Quick learning curve, interesting mechanics, great art.

Re: Board Games

Mind if I hijack this thread a bit as well btw, I am still thinking about a family gift and the main issue we always run into is that the gap between complexity that a 5 y/o and an 8 y/o can handle essentially results in us not being able to play a game with both of them together without it ending ...

Re: Board Games

There are some great cooperative strategy boardgames, such as Pandemic or Defenders of the Realm , where you work together to avoid getting crushed by the game itself. I've only played DotR as much, but I have a copy of Pandemic. It has some interesting mechanics and has three difficulty levels, and...

As you can see on the dpreadsheet, 648.5 gen, and the fact that I can't type.
That makes a lot more sense. One hundred more senses, to be exact. :P

Good luck with the rest of your run!

Wait, I just did a double-take. How are you getting 748? I typically end up with 620-640 at the end of day 7.

Ugh. I hate it when I do that.

Re: Draco Cracona's HCO DB 7 day attemnpt with labor day D2.

This thread is relevant to my interests. :D Looks like a pretty good run so far, Draco. You got Spleen about 10 turns earlier than I do on average, and didn't have to spend the summon on time, so that's good. Your summon plan seems solid. I would have done a slightly different Fax/Arrow plan, probab...

Re: maddsurgeon HCO TT Mongoose (7-day attempt - in progress

WRT Barr, I try to get in a few adv with resisual -com from either undisguised cove or cyrpt, as I'm 99% sure that it responds to +/- combat. I run +combat in the Barrr, because I usually find the Cap'm adventure before getting six insults, and I really really hate hitting those useless noncombats....

Re: Sleeping Beast's HCTrendy Sauceror (Wallaby) - 6/1139

Nice run! A few things: I"m not sure getting the lipstick is worthwhile, even if you don't have an better fairy. +5 lb. on a fairy doesn't translate directly to a lot of turns. You seemed to spend a lot of time in the Fun House. I'd go AT if you want to make any sort of boxen, to avoid making a usel...

maddsurgeon HCO TT Mongoose 8/675

Yo. My last run kind of blew up in my face; I was pretty underleveled and had some bad RNG, most notably a long Barrrr and a complete lack of polka pops. The worst of it was the being underleveled, though, so I cut the Brigand and the Q from my Fax plan and put the RAM/pr0n back in. Using peppermint...

Re: maddsurgeon's HCO DB Vole 8/654 (failed 7-day attempt)

Something regarding KFH and oxy from my (very limited) oxy experiences is that you have so many uses of daily stuff that the 20 % item isn't gonna do much for you as it should be pretty easy to cap nearly any drop except for spleen quest items, evil eyes and glands. So you are sacrificing a lot of ...
