Re: PaladinWhite's HCNP TT mongoose run (29 skills)

According to the superlikely page of the wiki, it "always occurs within roughly 7-9 adventures (including delay)," provided you've gotten the quest from the library. But the page for the adventure says it's delay plus a floor of 2-5 which seems to contradict that. Well, it gives you a general idea a...

Manipulate ML whenever possible. This seems key to doing really good runs. "Really" is the operative word here. Re: Getch's DitR HCNP TT (in run, please comment)

Sounds like things are coming along nicely, Getch. And yay for getting lucre! I wouldn't write off getting a mushroom patch next run. It gives you all the reagent pasta you want for zero turns. Since you're looking at 7-ish day runs, you're going to need a good bit of food. I know the 5k is a lot an...

DAY 4 Faxed and arrowed the LFM right away, did Ed, then did the gremlins. My flyering was finished somewhere in here. Re: Jersey_Tomato's 4/759 AT HCNP Vole

Day 3 went fast enough that I found myself with the war started with 32 turns to spare. What I should have done is waited and started the sidequests on day 4. That way I could have timed the last LFMs better, gotten some more candy hearts, etc. etc. But I felt like continuing to play turns. So I did...

Re: Jersey_Tomato's Accidental 4/459 AT HCNP Vole

DAY 2 I started by opening the hidden temple using a few banderways. Then I did a little haunted library until I opened upstairs. I didn't get scroll parts unfortunately. Jersey_Tomato's 4/759 AT HCNP Vole

This was a lazy run. How I ended up with a 4/759, I have no idea. I wasted turns all over the place. I was so suboptimal it hurt. Going back through the log, I spent a lot of time wondering why I did what I did. But 4/759? Hey, I'll take it. I did AT to perm some songs and so I could finish my goal ...

Re: HC- Booze acquisition

I should probably mention that when I routinely opened the fun house, I did it as soon as I could, so long before I hit the barrr.* That's why the clown accessories were relevant and why it was easy to fit in a sniff for a clown. And I simply needed more booze when I was getting liver. 94 hardcore a...

Re: HC- Booze acquisition

The point is not that you should open the fun house. The point is that it can be a reasonable option in some cases. Also, the wiki lists shaky clown as having 10% base rate for booze, not 20. 10% for each individual type of booze. Given that there are 6 types of booze, it works out to an excellent c...

Here's day 2 and some thoughts on day 3: DAY 2: Goal: Hit mid to late level 9 and do most/all quests and pre-Macguffin and lair stuff I hit level 10 with 4 turns to go, so I'm a little ahead. I'm putting off doing the goat quest until day 3 so I can get 10 turns of miner. (this is my first run with ...

Jersey_Tomato's HCNP Pastamancer (Wallaby) 4/835

This is my first attempt at a speed run, but I notice that I'm not doing anything all that different from an ordinary 4-day HCNP. I'm looking for suggestions on what I could be doing differently to make my so-called speed run into a real speed run. I've done 2 days of a planned 4-day run. Thanks in ...

Hi all. I just whitelisted over to check out your clan. Here--I'll just quote the very serious-sounding kmail I sent to lotsofphil: My goal is to develop a well-rounded, powerful, and fast character who can handle all areas of the Kingdom. I'm currently in the process of HC perming a core set of ver...
