On r1336 (my first use of cc_ascend!) I had the spirit beer problem as well. Not sure what triggered it, but it bought something like 75 of them; I had ~650 turns of all my buffs when it stopped around turn 92. Did you switch on auto SVN updates? We usually don't put the entire logs in here, it is useful but made the quoted reply a little messy.
