Re: Speed (running & exercise)

So, I gave up on my October marathon, because 1) in the summer training in the boring, overheated plains is way too difficult when you know you could be in the sunny mountains instead, and 2) with the little training that I managed to do I ran a 15k in 1:06, which is way off the pace I was aiming fo...

Re: Speed (running & exercise)

When in nature I like running alone too. I love the freedom that running offers (freedom to go slow or fast, to run 20 minutes or 2 hours, to run around the block or to see where that little mysterious path leads to), and doing it with someone else does restrict that freedom. But intervals aren't re...

I'm not going from a specific plan myself. I don't think I need to build up endurance any more, if anything I've already been doing that for the past 6 months. 1h34 is pretty damn impressive if you had only been running for a month and a half. You should definitely have the potential for 3h15 - 3h20, but be careful, experience does matter quite a bit over 42 kilometers. Your program might be relatively low on volume, but it's pretty high on quality. Not en...

From the parser's thread :

2. If the thing is cutting off the last letter for you: open the script in a text editor, and find/replace chop/chomp. mafia puts some weird non whitespace characters in its logs on my computer so unfortunately this probably won't change.

Hey, thanks for this great tool. It's not perfect (I'm getting a lot of "Got" with no item name), but it's still very useful. I think you may want to remove this bit from the original post : if you have a mac with any OS X, you probably aren't using mafia I suppose Mafia wasn't working too...

Mongoose also saves 1k meat and 1 turn when making your epic weapon. Unless you also need to use one of the advanced smithing skills. But is there a need for that on day 1 ?

Yes, it's something we've experienced anecdotally. I don't believe it myself, but my attempt at proving it wrong this run failed when I got 100% quest item drops when using the book :?

Actually no it isn't ready yet, the design is awful under IE. As usual. Since I'm on a mac I don't have it right now. So either I get the time to (re)install parallels and windows, or I'll have to wait till I go back to my parents' house. Which should happen next weekend. Words cannot tell how badly...

Ok I looked at my numbers again, and found that additional ML was not taken into account for Ed. But that's not what caused the differences you've seen. I think that is due to an error from your part : you're computing ML from the junkyard for 11 fights, even though the subquest takes 12 turns. Glad...

Don't worry about it if I'm your only Leopard user, I can live with having to launch this from a shell script. But if it helps, Eclipse when still configured to use Java 5 doesn't recognize the classes javax.swing.GroupLayout and javax.swing.LayoutStyle (which you seem to use quite often), and think...

Hmm, this tool sounds really promising, so I wanted to give it a try. Sadly it doesn't seem to run on mac os 10.5. Or maybe it's a problem with my JRE (thought that things was updated automatically) ? Anyway here's what I get when I try to launch the jar : 06/01/08 12:41:26 AM [0x0-0x87087].com.appl...

Creepy indeed. Sometimes it's like numbers are trying to tell us something... Anyway, I think I've got that thing done. I fixed a small bug in the calculations, improved the design slightly, added the documentation and credits, and the data you enter is now saved across sessions through a cookie. Co...
