Spooky, Cold, Sleaze, Stench, Hot. Elements deal double damage to the two coming after it. There's your mnemonic, I'm a genius.

Just awesome.

I can always remember that stench and hot are good against spooky, and sleaze and cold are good against stench, and cold is good against sleaze. I think those three things (which are all super-easy for me to remember since they're just war weaknesses and the most common element weakness) allows you to reconstruct the chain with a moment's thought.

Maybe that's too elaborate though...

I know that hot is not weak to cold, because the friars as a sauceror isn't sweet like that. I know cold is strong against stench and sleaze, because that is, like stu said, the war weaknesses, and I know from casting snarl that spooky is strong against sleaze but not stench. And that is enough to create the entire circle. Mnemonics never worked for me. Y before P except after G rhymes just as much.

Spock Couldn't Sleep - Still Hungry.

I always remembered it kind of like this:
(1) Cold is good against both sides of the war quest (stench/sleaze).
(2) Hot is good against cold, but not vice versa.
(3) Stench or sleaze work great versus hot monsters in Hey Deze.

Hot beats spooky - relevant for myst levelling
Cold beats st/sl, war. Duh.
Stench beats hot, because hot doesn't beat stench. (No, I don't know why I actually remember this one.)

Just figured from there after.

Am I alone in just being able to remember them without a mnemonic?

Edit: To be fair, before it became automatic I memorized the locations of the elements in this circle and used that as a reference. That probably only works well if you're very visual, though.

No, I don't try to remember those. That's what the wiki is for.

Runs take long enough when I'm NOT checking the wiki every 5 seconds, thanks.

And how often in HC run does this really become an issue? Once you've ascended a dozen times, you know what works with what you need. I just never remember what does double damage. If I need to do that much, I will consult wiki.

If you alphabetize the elements, each one is vulnerable one step forward and two steps back. Shame three of them start with S, though.

This one is probably really confusing if you like Paula Abdul.

I had that circle as my desktop background once, so I would just hit show desktop when I wanted to what was good against what.

I like the mnemonic better though :)

*cough* :)

Scripts is sometimes kinda wonky, but the constant repetition of seeing it down there has also made it less necessary for me :P
