NS Tower Stat/Init/Elemental Tests

Wanted: the ranges for all the outcomes of the NS Tower registration desk tests. We need to do this properly.

Rule #1: Do not talk about Smithsness.
Rule #2: DO NOT TALK ABOUT SMITHSNESS!

There is something screwy with smithsness. Do not report any results here that involve Smithsness equipment or Smithsness buffs!

The tables we are trying to fill out:
#2: > Z
#3: between Z and Y
#4: between Y and X
...
#11: below K

What can you do:
1) send meat to LotsOfPhil (#2023803). This will help me buy stuff and live a lavish lifestyle.
2) in any run, record your init/stat/damage and the result from the Desk Dude.
3) in more casual runs, deliberately try and hit points around the current boundaries. Like say someone got #2 with 576 stat and someone got #3 with 540. Try to get somewhere in between (like 558). This may add a turn or six.

Questions you might have:
* Do I report spell damage, melee damage, the higher of the two, the sum? The sum, pretty sure.
* If I equip my Hand in Glove I'll get more muscle. Go away.
* I have some data I sort of remember. Would you like that? Nope!

TE just had an issue with the stat test. Looks like you'll need to remove merry smithsness (and the other smithsness buffs if you have them) to get reliable data.

Did some stuff:
Normal data points: 52 spooky = #7 (2x femurs, undead tonic); 386 stat #6; 220 init = #6

Trying to find the ranges where pretty pessimistic, somewhat apprehensive, pretty good, and extremely optimistic go:
init
PP: 40, 60, 70, 85, 100, 105, 110
#6 (220) = SA: 115, 205, 220
PG: 225, 235, 305, 320, 325
#3 = XO: 330, 335

stat
PP: 146, 166, 189, 203, 211, 213, 214
SA: 215, 221, 282, 307, 328, 375, 385
#6 = PG: 386, 389, 399

As you can see, "somewhat apprehensive" meant #6 in init test whereas "pretty good" meant #6 in stat test. I don't like that one bit.

Low end spading:

40% init = #11 in the init contest.
150 Myst = #11 in the mysticality/stat contest.
10 hot damage = #11 in the hot/damage contest.

312 on strength was good for #8.

52 stench damage and 20 stench spell damage was good for #5

Got a high-end muscle:
554 muscle, 95 base was good for #3 in the muscle test.

Sources:mesh cap, lead pipe, knob goblin pants, blackberry galoshes, iron beta, rusty chain, tomato power, gr8tness, phorcefullness, lycanthropy, starry-eyed, woad warrior, gritty, extreme muscle relaxation, power ballad of the arrowsmith, and stevedave's

+103 muscle and +373.99% with 6 lit segments.

390 init was also good for #3

Edit: It's interesting that Phil and I have different results. I capped a screenshot of my test and noticed that my modified init was 380 due to having 30 ML. Not sure if it had an effect but it's definitely curious.

Had a softcore multi finish a lazy run so I was able to do a binary search on the high-end stat limitation:

575 myst was good for #2, next target is to try 563 myst although 575 seems like a pretty reasonable cutoff.

16 spooky is #10, so... I guess the cutoff is 15. That was gross to spade, since it's not divisible by 5 >.>

219 Mysticality is also #10. Another easy cutoff to find.
I went into the smelliest contest with +30 stench damage and got #9. These elemental tests are going to be a bit more annoying to spade, I think...

I'm going to do this in a slightly different way to avoid confusing myself about what I have and haven't tested and wasting data points.

The first column is WHICH CONTEST (attribute tested).
The second column is Previous test data point and result.
The third column is Tested data point (in both bold and italic to signify it as new data).
The fourth column is The suspect test for next run.

That said:

SPEED CONTEST (Initiative) - 150% (#8) - 140% (#9) - Suspect test: 149% (Testing for #9 to #8 cutoff)

The elemental test is NOT following predictable cutoffs at all, unfortunately. 21 stench really ought to have been #9, but it's #10 instead. The equipment I was using for this particular test were gaia beads and an asparagus knife.

I'm going to continue working under the assumption that the cutoffs are fixed, even though I always had a minor suspicion that there was some variance involved, because of the weirdness of some of the cutoff points I've found. Spading variance is going to be a LOT trickier, and getting data that's in the correct general area will still be useful as a base for determining the variance.
