Omri's HCNP AT Wallaby 3-day attempt

So after getting a good turncount 4-day, my confidence was bolstered to the point of trying a non-FoB 3-day HCNP attempt. Another plus is the new sewer change that was implemented, resulting in not only a direct turn savings from the necessary sewer trips for an ascension, but lots of clovers to play around with, especially since there were 3 clovers on day 1 of this run :D

I love the lack of sewer turns here :) Typical stuff - RnR legend, guild tests, set shore counter, red ray (which didn't actually bring me to Level 2, and hasn't been doing so lately... did they up the number of stats needed or lower the stat you start at?)

I decided to summon 2 sugar and a sticker, foregoing the usual sugar chapeau I make for my hatrack at the nuns and bats. The reasoning behind this is that I'm rather worried that I'll get sticker screwed with only 6 summons, and be unable to get 3 unicorn and 3 UPC. Unfortunately, I got neither a unicorn nor a UPC with today's summon. Oh well, gotta hope for better luck later.

Tower is pretty nice - I may get screwed by powdered organs, but I'm going to try to get enough slime stacks to try force killing a tower monster if necessary. As far as the others go, ninja stars and leftovers are out of the way, but the clover change makes leftovers easy (just costs a clover that would otherwise be used powerleveling), and ninja stars are a yellow ray on day 2 or 3, depending on how I want to bank turns between days 2 and 3. Everything else comes in the normal course of adventuring (although thin black candle can suck if you only get 3 of them and then can't summon the meat demon...)

Unfortunately, I was stupid and wasn't running Fat loot for a lot of this time. Also, max adventure gains from coffee pixie sticks! (and near max adventure gains from the roc feather!) I normally get HORRIBLE consumable turn RNG, and it's going to be critical for this run to succeed, so I'm glad to see things starting off on a good foot.

A few notes here:
1) Long tavern is long :(
2) I probably could have waited to shore for higher stats. I didn't really need the fruit badly yet (though magical ice cubes from the shore is nice since I summoned no mainstat garnishes today)
3) I shouldn't have drank flower schnapps - coffee is better, and it may cost me later on since I already have all my filler for days 2 and 3 pretty decently mapped out.

I feel the ballroom was good to me - and my pixie was freaking awesome to me today. I got 4 absinthe over the course of the day. Got my lucre, more absinthe, milk, food, and hipposkin poncho goodness. I think I had 7 or 8 SGEEAs, so plenty for me to be a little bit wasteful with them. The airship kinda sucked - I got temporary amnesia twice, and ended up making serums of sarcasm both times so I could actually kill things since I was out of hot tub uses. Need booze for a nightcap BADLY. I figure the best shot is to olfact a booze giant at Menagerie 3, and hope I get enough for today and tomorrow. I ended up with what I needed for today, but I still need another basic booze or 2 for tomorrow. I'll get it tomorrow after runaways.

Should I use my runaways at the forest tomorrow, or save them for the hedge maze? Hedge maze saves a full turn, but I don't know exactly how many I'll need there :(

Pretty much all of the level 11 quest left to do, so I doubt that I'll be getting a 3-day.
I'm looking at a total of around 740 turns generated if I don't get shitty SHC RNG again. I was stupid and forget to get a badass pie today, which I *really* needed for my consumption plan tomorrow.

Sadface. I may not attempt this again next moxie days, but I feel very, very confident that I can get a 3-day over FoB.

I think it's still possible to finish this run as 3-dayer with above average adv. gains from consumables, so good luck on your day 3 :)
...but if not, maybe try with HCO TT lead-in next time? I don't think that scarf is really necessary with all these free clovers.

I was *so* close. To make a long story short, I entered level 13 with 11 turns, no drum, one tower item missing (that I was going to force kill), and only 1 free runaway remaining (from a green smoke bomb). And I needed a handsomeness potion from SotB. If I had gotten slightly better consumable RNG and gum, or if I'd have cut out a few mistakes, I could have easily had this run. I'm trying again next moxie days, and I'll have pulverize then for a few much-needed extra adventures.

NB: I think I still prefer the scarf, in part because you don't have to hope to get lots of clovers. In fact, this run I was only able to use one clover for leveling despite the first 2 days being 3/2. One for leftovers, one for skull/brain, one for ultrahydrated (saving 3 turns I think is better than using it for powerleveling), one saved for gum. In a 3-day you're really not getting a ton.

You'll always be a Turkey, Omri.

Why not go DB? 15 seconds thought only turns up 2 possible advantages for AT: MMJ (which you don't do) and just make RnR (saving 1 clover and 1 turn).
DB advantages: meat and item combos.

Seems like meat/item combos are better than the 1 clover/1 turn.

Is there any real need to make the chef? That would obviate all of the DB disadvantages.

the chef helps if you want to craft SHCs. I went DB this run and it's the first time I'm using disco combo, they're very powerful and if you don't have the skills permed, DB is probably the best speed class now.

and I'm sure you'll make it next time omri!

Even if you have zero DB skills permed this is what you need to buy in-run for the +meat and +item combos (+meat is a subset of +item):

L1: Disco Eye-Poke, 250 meat
L4: Disco Dance of Doom, 1500 meat
L7: Disco Dance II: Electric Boogaloo, 5000 meat

Within reach once you get your dictionary (or goatlet meat, prob. not before).

If you perm the L7 skill it drops to 1750 meat and L4. Eyes light up.

Yeah LoP, I was wondering about why NOT having the skills permed would make DB better, rather than worse. I'd want at least Dance II permed before wanting to do combos.

Yeah, I don't have ANY of the DB skills permed, plus the whole needing-a-chef thing, I don't think in my particular case, DB is the way to go yet.
