Okay, got a run under the belt, time to try and improve it. Gonna be taking notes and plotting out the run as I go this time, hopefully cleaning up the pathing and choices.

I don't know how effective Sympathy was for me since I run reanimator 80%+ of the time, but it almost certainly wasn't 11+ turns good.

I decided to try something in this run by drinking my speakeasy songs at turn 0 before resting (well, I had to rest once for mana for ode). The reason for this is because drinking that booze takes me up to level 3, which means resting gives a lot more substats. This lets me use less rests here to get up to level 4-5, and save the other rests for later in the day when they're worth even more stats. I definitely think it made a difference.

The tradeoff is two-fold: first, the +100% stats runs out at turn 75 instead of a bit later, which means I can't sleep through the last like 10 combats of the day. Second, it costs 1,500 meat right at the start which makes meat a bit tight in the beginning when I'm wanting to buy skills and such. Overall I definitely think it is worth it though.

Pretty standard stuff here in the beginning, I'm basically hitting up everything I can that doesn't require noncombat while waiting for wandering desks and level 6. You'll notice the detour to the spooky Forest at 24-28: that was the start of my first Wandering Desk window, and I was trying to use it to burn delay, but it didn't work out.

I started off with fist turkey and got a booze or two while my initial Ode was still up so I drank them immediately; in retrospect I think waiting and letting more of them drop, then drinking them before heading into the dark neck would be better, to get more use of the +item buff overall. I think I'll start off with the cubeling next time just to get it out of the way asap, then switch to the Fist Turkey. That would let me stop resting at level 4 at the beginning, and save rests for even more stats (stats stats stats stats, mmm).

After taking the time to talk up how good it was to save 8-bit realm for D3 in the last log, here I am doing it on D1. Honestly, I just felt like I didn't have anything else that could do at this point. I could have gone into the spooky forest or dark heart/elbow, but I really want to save as much of that for after the ballroom song as possible. I dunno, we'll see how the Wandering LFMs go without 8-bit, and if it's not a problem it'll probably stay here on D1.

And even after clearing 8-bit realm, I still had 7 adventures until my Semirare, and 9 adventures left on the window for my last Desk. It actually gave me a scare here when I got to my SR and the desk still hadn't shown up, cause the wandering monster can overwrite the semi-rare, but thankfully the desk wasn't THAT much of a dick.

I also made a last-second change here, and went for the Knob Cake instead of the harem outfit. My logic here is that I'm getting the uniform anyway, and on with Rapid Prototyping I can cook the cake without spending an adventure. Doing it this way I will always spend 3 turns, whereas going into the harem is 1-4+ turns and a yellow Ray. That freed YR tomorrow will go for an early Hippy, and maybe at the end of the day I'll get a second YR on a burly sidekick.

Important note to self!: I almost forgot to get my pool buff at the end of the day. My plan is to get the -combat buff after spending turns, and using it at the start of D2 for noncombat goodness. Don't forget this next time!

General Thoughts: The day went fairly smooth overall. Trying to find things to do without venturing into -Combat zones is annoying, and ironically enough good RNG would just make the problem worse. I definitely felt more confident having my previous log open in another tab for reference, being able to see where I went and when (even if not the best choice) helped me decide where to go this time. The day wasn't without mistakes though, and the big one is that I almost entirely forgot to use the Florist Friar; I'll need to address that in the future.

Notes for Next Run: Decide where you're going to use the Friar, and make notes about it. Also, starting with the cubeling then moving to the turkey is probably a better idea. Also Also, lining up the outskirts with the first wandering window, to help burn delay there, is probably a good idea. Finally, go mention the knob cake idea in clan chat so everyone can mock you and tell you it's a horrible idea :roll:

From a combination of delaying D1 rests, and general D2 bad luck, I managed to hit level 10 without spending any D2 rests, so time to spend them. After that end up staring down my ~180 turncount and wondering what the hell I can do to get it down to 145 so I can nightcap without going over 200 tomorrow. This seems like it's especially going to be a problem if D1/D2 get faster; on the other hand if I get everything done and have turns that are going to waste, I guess that means I wouldn't have used them anyway...

The end here is filled with "shit, I need to spend 30 turns" stuff. I got the bridge up to 15/15 parts in preparation for tomorrow, did the daily dungeon, got my SR out of the way, and then I was stuck with only the Airship left.

I kind of didn't want to run the Airship here since I can only get -15% combat, but I compromised and stopped at 25 adventures (and 4 immateria). Looking back at it now, I think that was probably the proper choice, since I can get the full benefit of -25% combat for the sock while also getting more chances at SGEEAs for the first 25 adventures. No Mohawk wig, though :(

General Thoughts: It felt like RNG was shitting all over me today, but I'm pretty much in line with where I was in the previous run. I haven't done mining, Snowmen, or Peak, but I have done 8-Bit, F'c'le and Logging Camp. I'm also about 1,000 moxie substats ahead of the previous run. We'll see how D3 goes, but I'm not expecting much improvement if any.

Mistakes of the Day: I actually forgot to syringe a due for gene tonics today. Fortunately I still had dude dna from yesterday so I could just make 3 more, but I need to remember to make sure of that in future runs. I fight dudes in spooky forest and airship, or I can arrange D1 to have dude dna at the end.

Notes for Next Run:
  • If I'm going to submarine sprint at the end of D1, and YR at the beginning of D2, I should probably just do the shore on D1 before I go for a swim, save 9 turns of the buff.
  • Maybe finding something other than 3 dude tonics might be worthwhile here: maybe an elemental tonic for resists on D3 (a-boo clues and Garden Maze).

Cleaned up the Sockdollager turns here by prepping the Hidden Office building and Hidden Apartment, then drinking, then getting everything done. Just barely enough turns to have sockdollager stats up for every spirit.

One downside of going NC+elem damage in the cellar is you are very unlikely to get any tangles. After the bad luck I had this run, it is almost enough to make me want to change things up, but I think that is just a knee-jerk response. 5-turn cellar (with 2 of those turns required) is pretty good; running +combat that would have been like 8 turns for a chance at a tangle.

The bad luck and mistakes are piling up, and here is where I start really tilting (getting flustered, if you don't know what tilting means). The plan is to save the middle chamber for when I have frost flower running, and to do the junkyard first to get it out of the way (and syringe a gremlin for the +20% meat gene tonic). Instead:
  • I start the middle chamber, using a Louder than Bomb to banish a non-rat (starting the 20-turn counter)
  • realize I'm supposed to do junkyard first, and in a panic buff up for the junkyard instead (using all my +DR consumables)
  • Craft ALL of my remaining coal into items and smash them for smithereens to make LtBs
  • THEN realize that the junkyard plan involves using banishes, which would negate the use of the LtB in middle chamber, and decide to do the frost flower turns first
  • NEXT realize this means I just wasted my dr buffs, and I still need to spend a turn in junkyard for the gene tonic
  • FINALLY realize that I forgot to make a half a purse for +meat before I converted all my coals to smithereens
It was an ugly, ugly set of turns here, lots of little and not-so-little mistakes that really just made me fed up with this run and ready for it to be over

The biggest piece of advice I can offer (aside from specific run stuff) is to not be discouraged by those mistakes.

I know its broken record, but just keep it in mind. You did an awesome job despite your mistakes, and I know you can do better!
