===Day 1===
Much like 3 day HCO, this has been a pet project of mine for a very, very, very, very long time. Here's a bit of self-indulgent backstory and maybe even a cautionary tale for people unfamiliar with time-constraints in low daycount runs:
  • on the FoB of 6/18/2016, I did the first 2 day HCTeet run. It was surprisingly straightforward and got me thinking that 1 day HCNP would be basically the same thing after a couple dozen turns of power creep or some solid RNG.
  • on the FoB of 9/22/2016, I threw together most of the current plan in roughly 1.5 hours (according to the spreadsheet's revision history) about 12 hours before the end of FoB. Since I play turns at a truly glacial pace and was dealing with taking care of actual factual kittens, I didn't bother even trying it out that day.
  • in the days leading up to the FoB of 11/24/2016, I tweaked the plan a bit to make use of the new iotm (the time-spinner) as well as the barrel shrine's ode effect for ATs. The run went fairly smoothly, was likely 30 turns or so short of daycount, and struggled a lot with friends and family acting as though Thanksgiving is important for things other than speedruns of stickfigure games from 2003.
  • on the FoB of 12/27/2016, I was making meat hand over fist selling sprinkle leaderboard skillbooks. Yeah.
  • on the FoB of 4/2/2017, I barely changed anything, tried again, and ended up ~2 hours short of maybe finishing the run with above average RNG.
  • in the days leading up to the FoB of 7/7/2017, a lot of shit happened. Most notably, the july iotm came out on the 5th and was in such a broken state that it's still unclear whether its most notable feature (a banisher usable every 30 turns) is supposed to cost a turn. Less notably, I realized that AEDs kind of suck ass for daycount when stench jelly exists; switching in some pilsners paired with a pile of stench jelly and prismatic wads made my plan what the kids call 'dank af'.
  • on FoB of 7/7/2017, I started my run roughly 3 hours after rollover, took a 1 hour nap at some point, spent half an hour convincing my grandmother to take her Mac to the Apple store instead of putting her passwords into malware telling her that her copy of Windows isn't secure, probably ate something at some point, and spent roughly 18 hours total playing turns to finish with a few minutes before rollover and one turn to spare.

Here's a summary of some notable things to keep in mind while reading for people who are interested in trying this themselves:
  • the last ~200 turns of the run were played in roughly 150 minutes. Sketchy decisions made during that time are likely due to time constraints; I'll try to point out any that are intentional and meaningful, but feel free to ask (here or in-game) if something there confuses you and seems intentional and doesn't make sense as a strategy.
  • eating/drinking were postponed as long as possible and the snowglobe was used as much as possible.
  • the current iotm (whatever api.php?what=item says item #9508 is called) would have been quite excellent in this run instead of mayo, but the free banish every 30 turns was not properly free until well after the run ended. This likely influences class choice by making batter up somewhat (slightly?) worse; I'm not sure which of SC (batter up is still great), AT (barrel ode), or TT (barrel milk) is best for future attempts at this. That iotm also changes valuations of low fullness epic food when planning your diet, since you no longer get the +1/[food size] adv/fullness bonus from mayo, so plan accordingly.

I take the +stat effect from LOV instead of the +fam weight effect because I expect to be using my last two familiar free runs much later than turn 50 (mostly because ghostly reins, partially because mp/meat for bander weighting is cheaper later), and I really want the +25ML, +25% mainstatgain, +100DA shirt as early as possible.

I alternate between the gril for mp and the bander for converting mp into familiar weight with cannelloni cannon in the liches and snowmen. I stop at 100 familiar exp because ~800 mp and ~100 combat rounds for 2 free runs is a lot nicer than ~3200 mp and ~400 combat rounds for 4 free runs (the latter is correct but ugh).

The sequencing here probably looks weird, so let me elaborate (probably skip this if you're intimately familiar with the implications of wandering monsters in ascension contexts).
The arrowed ninja snowman assassin has an unknown, fixed random number between 19-29 as the turn on which it will appear.
Since I want to use up as few turns of zones that can be progress by wanderers as possible (due to the sheer number of wanderers that need to fit into those), I spend 3 turns at the shore (one of only two ascension relevant adventure.php zones in which wanderers can't appear) on turn 19. If the random turncount value for the wanderer is in the range 19-22 (a 4/11 chance), it will appear on the next visit to adventure.php. I take my hipster with me, visit the outskirts of cobb's knob, and encounter a free hipster fight. Hipster fights have lower priority than wanderers, so I now know that the wandering monster's number is in the range 23-29. This means I can do whatever I want on turn 22, so I clover some ore. Now that it's turn 23, there's a 1/7 chance that the wandering monster is due to show up, so I head back to cobb's knob. I get a normal monster, it takes a turn, so now it's turn 24 and the wandering monster has a 1/6 chance to show up on this turn. I visit cobb's knob, get a hipster combat, so it's still turn 24, and a wandering monster cannot show up, so I spend a turn clovering another ore. It's now turn 25, so the wandering monster has a 1/5 chance to show up, so I go back to cobb's knob with my hipster, get a hipster fight, and now know that the wanderer cannot show up on turn 25. Since I want my guild unlocked now to fight some free seals before my greek fire runs out, I take my boots with me, run away from an encounter in cobb's knob, and get the guild unlock NC as the following encounter, so now it's turn 26 and the wanderer can appear again. Instead of doing stuff in adventure.php, I do all the free fights that I want my greek fire to work on and then spend a turn cranking for a barrel clover. After all that, it's now turn 27, and the wanderer's random turn is in the range 26-29 (meaning it has a 1/2 chance to appear on the next visit to adventure.php). I take my boots with me, visit the spooky forest, and finally encounter the wandering monster.

To summarize, I
  • narrowed the wandering monster's window of appearance by spending turns in the shore and non-adventure.php stuff,
  • spent turns in zones progressed by wanderers precisely when the wanderer had a nonzero chance to appear (with the exception of the guild unlock due to other timing considerations), and
  • used knowledge of encounter priority to determine places in the range which the wanderer had zero chance to appear.
Managing wandering monsters is one of the more daunting (and minimal) parts of ascending fast as (typically much more simple) variants of the above process are used basically every time a wanderer can appear in addition to the usual sequencing quests to always have places to put them. Thankfully, there are currently no ascension-relevant wandering monsters with random timing in Standard, so this fiddliness only applies to speedruns of paths without in-game leaderboards.

Now that that's out of the way, I'm going to proceed to not talk about any future wandering monster manipulations in this log. Note that they absolutely were used for basically every wanderer except the last few (due to RL time).

Average bridge RNG means I'm killing some smut orcs with big +item% later.
