Crazy Steam holiday sales

Post by Eigenbasis » Wed Dec 22, 2010 3:51 pm

Steam is having their huge holiday sale with some pretty crazy markdowns.

http://store.steampowered.com/

So far I've picked up Bad Company 2 for $7.50 and the Indie 2-D Pack for $5, which has five games including VVVVVV and Geometry Wars. There's new deals each day, so be sure to check it out.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of really hard platformers. VVVVVV has some hard parts but is rarely rage-inducing, and it's full of retro fun.

My roommate, on the other hand, must be a masochist. He beat I Wanna Be The Guy. He was stuck on the final boss (The Guy) for months.

I'm not a fan of Steam -- even though I own a game or two. But I'm a big fan of Gog.com

They also have a sale. And get this, you actually _OWN_ the games you buy.

I picked up VVVVVV over the sale and I have finally conquered it. http://i.imgur.com/6NZIt.jpg

for anyone that doesn't know the significance of that screenshot here is a video of someone else doing that stupid level http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CtiY5D6HCs

Other than that horrifically evil level, the rest of the game was brilliant! I'm torn between it and Super Meatboy as game of the year for me.

I gave up on that one but I did beat the game. Finished with 10 trinkets and then I went back and got 6 or 7 more.
