This is the first log I've posted. Hopefully I format and annotate it in a readable way.

This is my best ascension so far, but my last 5 have all been very close to this one. What I am hoping to achieve in the near future is consistent 3 day runs, and I am hoping that you guys will have some tips about what to do differently and what expensive things would help me drastically. I have some vague ideas about this, but solidification from the experts is always nice. Without further ado, here is my ascension, probably the worst displayed on the board right now :roll:

Here are my day 1 pulls. I have a feeling that I need to quit pulling a pebblebrau and I probably will very soon. I guess the only reason I ever did that was to make combat easy before I got noodlebutt and to open the guild. Now with bus pass this doesn't seem to make sense, as I just buy the bus pass if I'm not a muscle sign.

Any other obvious flaws you see? I will probably exchange haiku katana for ice sickle soon as well.

Here I met my consumption goals and started the friars until I got the Semirare to do Cobb's Knob quest. Another thing worth mentioning is that I completely neglect my spleen unless I feel I have extra pulls for not-a-pipes. A spleen familiar would probably be a good investment.

But after I got my semirare I just banked turns for day 2. A good yellow ray target would be nice and I didn't use my stinky cheese eye banisher... Ever since they nerfed the bossbat bodyguard banishing trick I haven't found a replacement.

Ray a beanbat perhaps?

Rayed a miner, banished sabre toothed goats. I used some runaways on the drunk goats too which made for a nice goatlet. Also got a good amount of milks which was awesome. Then I went to take care of the pirates before hitting level 10 which seemed to go pretty well this run. 10 turn F'c'le? Not bad for me. For +item I have a Mr A Jr., stinky cheese eye, fairy w/ sugar shield, leash, empathy and sympathy, Phat Loot Lyric, GAP Super Vision, Knob eyedrops and pet spray, and I get flying burrito's blessing.

Spent 11 turns flyering at the upper chamber because I didn't know what else to do... I need more ML I guess. The rest is self explanatory except the INSANE LARGE BOX AND TOWER SCREW which almost ended in the defenestration my computer. Luckily it didn't matter because it was a 4 day run and I had a ton of spare pulls.

But that's it, I appreciate those people who actually read this less than stellar log, but I really want to improve.

I just took a quick look at day 1 and noticed that you're not using your bander runaways. You should be able to easily shave 20+ turns over 4 days using those. I also noticed that you don't have smooth movements or sonata permed. You should pick up those (and aria) sooner than later. I'll give your log a better look tomorrow.

I don't use my bander runaways until I have enough mp to cast ode, are there some well known tricks to getting one's max MP over 50? I don't have a JEW hat, but I suppose I could get one if it's worth it

I'm no SC ascender, but here are some thoughts on getting your MP above 50.
-Perm More skills (Slime Gland, Mojo, and Wisdom are the 3 biggies)
-Use glittery mascara and any buffs you can find, which should include your GAP buff.
-Seriously, you can easily get 50 MP on day 1. I bet you'll be fine next run.

Finger cymbals are +20 MP, I believe; you can get them if you YR a harem girl day 1. Other than that, stuff like mascara, candy hearts, magical mojomuscular melody or whatever it's called, slimy synapses, telescope buff, putting NPZR (or anything else that gives +10 to all stats) in the CoT, tea party buffs... all that stuff helps :) 50 MP day 1 is no problem. 100 MP for inigo's can be a little more difficult :P

First, that skill checker is way outdated. I suggest http://bumcheekcity.com/kol/profile.php instead.

Pulling a haiku katana is a complete waste with CoT MP. Pull a dreadlock whip instead until you can get an ice sickle.
The rest of this is standard I think, just doing friars/cyrpt with a RoC. I don't think I had the ballroom song at this point... Is it worth it to set the song before these quests in a 3 day run?
If you can manage 85 mainstat and you aren't shooting for day 1 organ of steel, then there is no reason to not set the ballroom song first.
It took too many turns to find an adding machine...
You need a VIP key to solve that.
Taking care of more quest stuff, I puttied a wine rack and yellow rayed the putty monster. Did I just get lucky and get the exact 2 other dusty bottles I needed or is that how the game mechanic works there?
You're better off pulling wine bottles than puttying a wine rack. Yellow rays are useless there because all of the drops are conditional.

That's normal. You should also be flyering Ed. More skills means more +ML, but it also means fewer monsters to flyer.

What happened to [568-614]? I assume that was all sonofa beach noncoms... Ugh. A VIP key is probably the most effective single thing (but keep getting lucre!) that will take off large chunks of your run at this point through judicious use of the fax machine. (My typical targets nowadays are a Ghost, a Rampaging Adding Machine, and a Lobsterfrogman.)

I'll second the suggestion to drop the haiku katana in favor of a +ML weapon. Do you have a megadrone for your CoT?

You can do all the worms before you fight on the battlefield. You can be wearing any outfit EXCEPT the frat warrior fatigues to do this, and this can give you a few more flyering targets. Just don't accidentally turn in the heart while wearing the hippy fatigues; save it for when you reach the stand in the frat outfit....

You were flyering the brigands while doing the nuns trick, right? Having to go back to the upper chamber is painful, but probably the best ML option... The other possibility (but you didn't need it this time) is to flyer in your powerlevelling zone if you think you are going to need it to get to 13.

A spleen familiar will help quite a bit with turngen and eliminating your pulls, of course, as you already pointed out. The sandworm is easy to use, and gives stats (but not when it drops!), but the Rogue Program drops a little faster, and any extra drops can be used for finger cuffs, which can be nice if you get in trouble pushing +ML (or if you ever want to kill tower monsters, but I still don't do that...).

pebblebrau - Meh. Without a VIP key I guess the early stats are appreciated, but it's still a pretty questionable pull.
Haiku Katana - People have already bothered you about this. I'll just note that an ice sickle is actually only a minor improvement over a dreadlock whip, if you're looking for the best way to spend your meat...
CARNIVORE - a decent pull, but questionable when you already have 2 superior stat accessories.
jub-jub - Well I guess it's required if the bander is your main stat familiar... but if you can manage a BBB or even a stocking mimic that'd be better (both get their equipment free)

3x prussian cathouse - perm SHC and save yourself 3 pulls.
3x asbestos ore - perm unaccompanied miner and save yourself 3 pulls.
spooky putty sheet - consider moving to day 1 when you actually start doing 3-day runs.
eyepatch - pull a clockwork pirate skull (or derivative) and get this plus a clockwork sphere (for a clockwork maid). Also, do it day 1.
enchanted bean - this saves you at most 1 adventure. Instead, when doing the bat hole you can get/use 2 sonar, then spend one adventure in the beanbat chamber. You'll get a bean with +100% item drop, and you'll have a chance at the third sonar.
frilly skirt - muscle sign FTW
3x not-a-pipe - I well understand the temptation, but if you can get spleen items from a familiar instead that would be prefered. And eventually you just won't need them at all.

3x prussian cathouse - see day 2
6x war outfit pieces - a yellow ray would be really helpful, there.
cyclops eyedrops - not a good pull, really. Better then most of the crap people pull as consumable +item, but still. I'd do The Legendary Beat day 1 if you must have more +item - 60 turns of +50% item (on a 3 day run) vs 10 turns of +100%.
Mick's IcyVapoHotness Inhaler - *Can* be a good pull depending on your +meat, and I'm not going to work that out. Still, generally one from a SR is sufficient.
Used a couple clovers to get to level 12 but my myst wasn't high enough to equip the war outfit so I went to the bathroom to level it up. Wasted turns?
It's typical to have to level offstats in speed softcore. Especially with a bander as your stat familiar.

As far as skills go... you're all over the place. You need SHC, sonata, smooth movements, and Ur-Kel's all ASAP. Also Inigo's, unaccompanied miner, and a dozen others. Seriously, you seem to have been alergic to Moxie in your HC runs.

Are there any typical goals that people try to hit each day during a 3 day run? I don't think I'm going to get a VIP key yet just because I can't afford to donate right now, so a 3 day is probably a half dozen ascensions away, but I'll be getting skills and ascending with the future intention of a 3 dayer in the back of my mind.

You should be able to hit 3 days without the VIP key, although you'll have to focus on turn cutting.

Assuming a 3d run with stat days, typical benchmarks will look something like this (maybe?):

D1: L6 and banking as many turns as possible so that you can consume KLP (potentially L8 if you have Unaccompanied Miner)
D2: I'd say hitting L11 is necessary, dunno how much work you'll have to put in D3. Being halfway through the MacGuffin quest or farther along means you shouldn't trouble finishing on time.
D3: Ascend =P

Yeah, I'd say if Day 2 is a stat day, then on Day 1 you just want to hit L6 for KLP, use all your daily stuff (runaways especially!) and bank. On Day 2... I dunno, I think it would be a good idea to at least unlock the Macguffin quest and do the temple with your hipster. That way you can get more hipster fights day 3 for the O/D or hidden city or what have you. Budget 100 turns (ish) for the L12 quest and 20 for the tower (these are high estimates), and see if you need to alter your turngen plan after Day 2, I guess.
