OK, first step. Skill and familiar selections. These were as follows:

Familiars:

Grimstone Golem (Fairychaun. Since I don't have a frost garden, I figured I'd use the mask to get a painting to help speed the bridge. Also, dowsing rod)
Crimbo Shrub (Stats. Since I don't have a Grill, this seemed like the next best thing)
Goth Kid (Mainly a QoL choice. He would spend most of the time on my Bjorn for HP/MP. Plus free fights)

I don't know from softcore, but surely the Crimbo Shrub's yellow rays make it at least a wash vs the grill as a stat familiar to take? (Also, no DNA kit?)

No, I missed out on getting the DNA kit when it was first available so I'm still saving up meat to buy one. It's probably going to be my next purchase once I've saved up. Plus I don't own a Grill either.

I actually end up using Golden Lights for my yellow rays. It's probably a resource I should make better use of, though. I only yellow rayed a beanbat on D1 and a Filthworm Royal Guard on D3. Basically copying and yellow raying are both resources that I didn't use at all during D2, so I need to get a way better idea of what to use those on in future.

For me in SC I always YR the beanbat day one, and day two a regular hippy and a war frat. If I get a second on day 1 the harem outfit is nice, and filthworms on a day 3.

Is the harem girl still a viable yellow ray target?

As far as I understand, the KGE route is less swingy and after the tower revamp there's no longer any situation where you'd need a disease.

Well with all your skills you don't really need the dispensary, and the harem gives stats. I don't usually have a long enough day 1 to get a second YR so I usually just do the harem naturally and hope it's quick.

Since you pulled the whole outfit, pulling a clockwork pirate skull day 1 and getting a free clockwork maid is probably a good idea, for 16 free turngen. Ore and ninja items for level 8 can be pushed to day 2 if needed.
Spent about 3 or 4 turns getting the other missing bridge pieces.
That is probably worth a smut orc keepsake box pull or a clover adventure.

With a pantsgiving banish, there's a good chance you'll get a harem girl quickly. You might even get perfume to drop instead of having to use the superlikely turn getting it (but probably not).

Ah, for some reason I always thought the main reason for pulling a clockwork pirate skull was for a bartender or chef. Making a maid makes so much more sense. Thank you.

Remember to use its YR next time. You'll save smithereens this way. It will help a lot if you try a 2-dayer.
Goth Kid (Mainly a QoL choice. He would spend most of the time on my Bjorn for HP/MP. Plus free fights)
The delay() burning can't be underestimated. That's 5~7 turns cut a day.
Saucestorm (Early game combat skill. Late game for use on physical immune enemies)
I don't think you need it. Weaksauce should be enough (I've taken it in some runs). You can just equip other elemental damage sources for the hidden city bosses.
Funkslinging (Since I was going to use rain-doh, I wanted to be able to sling blue balls and indigo cup in every fight)
The blue balls and the indigo cup stun or stagger, so not really needed. Since you're weaksaucing, 2 turns of deleveling is better than 1.
Amphibian Sympathy (Figured that I may as well take a passive)
Phat Leon (Self explanatory)
Mad Looting Skillz is a passive Phat Leon. Maybe it's better instead of Sympathy

Then flailed around for a bit when I realised how much I missed my passive cold resist. I think I might have used a scroll of protection from bad stuff at this stage.
There's no shame on leaving Groar for later (unless you really need the stats)
Tavern cellar at +115 ML. Only got one tangle.
I noticed you didn't drink any Speakeasy drink. The sockdollager is specially useful for the tavern to skip non-combats and later on for the level 13 elemental contest. Boosting non-combats is recommended here.
Spent about 3 or 4 turns getting the other missing bridge pieces.
As others have already told you, pulling orc keepsake boxes is advisable

Didn't get enough Bubblin' Crude from the Oil Peak the first time, so spent a few more turns than needed.
Something you can do is to postpone A-Boo peak and Oil peak til you're level 12, pull a frost flower, and use the 50 turns to do them, nuns, pyramid middle chamber and filthworms.
Airship. [...] Also used the goth kid here to burn a few delays.
Not really recommended. The way the airship works, there are 5 instances of 5-turn delay, one for each immateria and sock. Since the non-combats are not guaranteed once delay is burned, you should use the goth kid in other places. Namely desert exploration (helps conserve ultrahydrated(though it's no longer a concern due to Feb 2015's iotm)), Castle ground floor (after and if you get the boning knife), Pyramid upper and middle chamber, and hidden city apartment/offices.
Insult hunting. I also probably spent way too much time on this. Maybe I should have stopped at 6 instead of going for 7.
6 is definitely the lucky number!
Took a look through my telescope to see what challenges await. Optimal dogged my way to a +cold damage SR.
Since this is a 3dayer, you probably have enough pulls to pull cold damage instead of wasting a SR. The same could be said of all SR items, though.
With Batter Up! finally in my arsenal, I went to mop up the last of the Cyrpt.
You could use a louder than bomb to do it earlier. But if you didn't need the stats, it doesn't really matter.

25% NC. 13 turns to start the war. Thirteen. Turns. Spent a bit of time swearing at the game.

Pulled some +meat stuff for the nuns trick. Got a backup 4-D in case I missed it by one turn. But that turned out to be unnecessary.
You'll save many pulls once you feel more confortable doing this :3
Finished off the battlefield and spent a SR getting another inhaler for the wall of meat.
It's not worth it to get a semi-rare that only saves one turn
Since I still had about a bajillion pulls left, I just grabbed whatever would help me through the tests.
Remember to use the speakeasy! Bee's Knees gives +100% all stats and Sockdollager gives 20 prismatic damage + 20 prismatic spell damage (so 40 of the 100 you need for #2)

This is strange. You got an extra inhaler and still needed 2 turns to beat the wall of meat. Did you remember to use a meat familiar and a half a purse? It's easy to beat it in 2 turns with only these two things.

Thanks a lot for all the advice. As things are now, I'm sure that Ed will be the path where I break into the 2-day barrier.
