Target plan:

So I came into this run with an expectation that I would hit somewhere around a 2/540. My diet plan and everything else was based upon that belief since my prior best was a 2/564. As such, I ran into a lot of stat/leveling issues which I, somehow, resolved. I finished with plenty of turns to spare as you'd expect, so if I had to do this run again, I'd probably pull star key lime pies which would have probably saved me another 15 turns? Anyway, I'll also thank the RNG gods along the way through this log. Hopefully this will be of some use to others that want to go speedy. I'm very rusty and don't know all the tricks, so I would also appreciate getting any feedback from those that are super speedy and see where I could have done better.

First things first, do all turn-0 stuff. Pull my items (seen below), open the can of rain-doh. Grab dungeoneering kit from gameinform. Use the scroll of puddingskin to survive early combats. My main combat strategy early on is to just use the rain-doh orange agent, until I can pick up the skill that lets me actually hit stuff. I'm running about 50 ML here. I don't pull the Hand in Glove yet, I wait until after the guild quest to see if I get lucky enough to get a dirty hobo glove. I make the Shakespeare Accordion and Light that never goes out.

I grab the Weird DNA for +4 stats / combat here in my first turn. Also, in the folder, I have +ML, +NC, and +HP/MP for QOL. Again, orange agent to handle combat since I can't hit anything with extra ML.

I start running some +item in an attempt to pick up the Dirty Hobo Gloves here. I banish a non glove dropping hobo w/ Pantsgiving, just to slightly increase my odds, but this probably wasn't completely necessary. I do get one on my last turn here, so I make the Hand in Glove, saving me a pull!

I make 2 golden lights and a louder than bomb for future use. I use the first YR on a beanbat. I want to start the counter early so that I can then YR a hippy at the end of the day for the outfit and reodorant.

Unlock Cobb's Knob to prep for the KGE semirare. I use the Goth Kid here to burn the delay on getting the key and save some turns.
Also, my diet plan at the moment involves getting to level 6 to eat the KLPs, then hitting level 8 to drink the Happy Medium drinks, and finally hitting level 9 to chug an astral energy drink, using the remaining space for carrot juices when I need item find.

This next batch of turns is spent finishing the spooky manor quest. I use the swimming pool's +NC buff so that I can hit 25% NC with Smooth Movements, Sonata, duonoculars, and the folder. I finish all the quests at about when I would expect. I used a banish on a useless nightstand at the bedroom to increase the odds that I can get the disposable camera so that I don't have to pull it. Worked successfully.
Also, a note, the makeup in the bathroom HURTS and is much higher level than the rest of the things here. I believe I barely survived that combat with just a few HP remaining.
I also juggled between the Goth Kid and the Medium. The desired encounters, I believe, have a 5 turn delay on them. I didn't use it in the bedroom since I needed to grab the spectacles and the camera.

The first sign that this run is starting to become good. I grab all 3 hot wings and I finish the entire Friar's quest in 19 turns, which is pretty good for me. I make a quick detour to grab the KGE outfit from the semirare.

I use the Goth Kid for the first 5 turns in here to burn delay. Crayon combats are pretty tough since I'm running about 110 ML. I plant the +30 ML plant here, along with stagger and mp regen for fun. After 5 turns, I swap to the Medium. This went by fast, 11 turns, and I pull the fertilizer.

I also pull a chef-in-the-box. I need to cook 3 things in this run: Knob Cake, Unstable Fulminate, and wet stunt nut stew. So, this pull saves 3 turns which is nice.

A quick goatlet, 4 turns. I save the ores until day 2. Today was a 1 clover day, I used 1 at Guano Junction, plan on using 1 to get the Wand. So that leaves me with 1-2 depending on how the next day works out (spoiler alert, another 1-clover day). I want to use 1 at A-boo peak, so if I get 2 clovers, I can use one here to save a pull on an ore.

Note: The modern zombie is a superlikely, affected by initiative. As such, maxing out +NC will essentially give you a second chance at rerolling the modern zombie, so it's good to run +NC here. Also, don't forget to use the +init plant here.

YR timer is up, zap the hippy! At this point, I'm pretty much done w/ the day. My main goal now is to hit level 10 ASAP tomorrow so that I can use a YR to grab the mohawk wig. I use up all my free rests (completely overpowered). I ate a sleeping dog early on, so that's 10 turns of free rests, or about 1000 substat... time to overdrink and end the day to see how it goes...

Wait. I'm at 15/16 fullness. Shoot. I forgot about the extra fullness from pantsgiving. I'm at 16/16 but I need to spend a combat adventure to get another fullness! I scramble and wrack my brain on what I can do. I can't open up the level 9 quest yet. I can't do the trapper's quest. Thankfully, I had the psycho jar, so I spend the end of the day farming for the digital key.

Eh, 9 turns. Would have liked 8, but I was missing a banish. This was an amazing Day 1. I was estimating that I was about 17 turns ahead of my previous run, and since I was targetting 540, felt I was in good shape.

I swapped the fan in the chateau for 3 extra adventures with the intent to swap back to free rests day 2. This was unnecessary as I had extra adventures.

I also put in the juice bar. I debated seeing if i could get both the meat and the juice in the same day. turns out you can't. Good thing I did it now. Next time, not sure if I really needed the 1k meat early on. I should be able to get away without it so I can start w/ the juice bar early and not be -1500 net meat down if I didn't need the 1k early on.

Probably shouldn't have chosen this time to try out a new stratgy. So, I start off in the Office building, pumping up +item to find a janitor so that I can get a book of matches from it. Then I continue and then banish the next one I find. I then continue in the Apartment building, making sure I get thriced-cursed, then get the rest of the files I need for the office. Go back to the office, finish it up.

Now, I head to the hospital. It took me 6 turns to find a surgeon :( At least once I found it, the next few combats were also a surgeon. I'm not sure if it's worth pulling the first item to help speed this up. Anyway, then I head to the bowling alley and crap. I forget to buy the bowl of scorpions. A wasted turn there. Bowling alley just takes a while since i need 5 balls + 5 noncombats after that, so 13 turns i guess is pretty good. I also see the janitor pop up here so the banish ran out. I'm sure I could probably play this part better to save a turn or two.

And another thing that didn't show up... so, I'm going through this faster than I ever have before. I'm used to being able to grab 3 semirares. KGE, Hidden Temple, and Inhaler. However, I still had like 30-50 turns before my SR. So, I eat an optimal dog and grab the inhaler here.

Overall, this run was fantastic. I did not expect to get anywhere near 500 turns, and with a bit more focus, luck, and planning, I could have gotten sub-500. I'm happy with my performance. Thanks to AFH for hosting this competition to get me back into the game. I hope this log proves useful for someone who wants to do a speedy 2-day run. I would personally love comments to see what else I missed that would help me shave a few turns off. I know there aren't many of these out there so I wanted to put this out as a resource for everyone.

Wow. Thanks for posting that and congrats on a wonderful run! So much to digest! NC on the Alcove?! And I've been using frost flowers since two days after the garden rolled and never realized that they granted a combat effect!

I also pull a chef-in-the-box. I need to cook 3 things in this run: Knob Cake, Unstable Fulminate, and wet stunt nut stew. So, this pull saves 3 turns which is nice.
Cooking wet stunt nut stew doesn't take a turn.
Mask + Drum machine for Oasis.
I always go with scrip (for the compass) plus a killing jar (plus the drum). That's 1 more pull to save 4 turns (5 coins minus 1 for unlocking gnasir faster).

Nice run.

Great run! A few random small notes:

Fun fact regarding delay in the bedroom: it's actually unexpectedly 6 turns of delay before the elegant nightstand is available. In Heavy Rains, I had 4 banishers, so I'd kill the ornate stand once, then use a killing banish on is the 2nd time, and banish the other 3, only to get a tumbleweed on adventure 6, followed by the elegant stand on adv 7. This happened consistently, so I'm pretty sure the elegant stand has 100% rejection before the 7th adventure.

Also, none of the ingredients for the wet stunt nut stew are fancy, so it doesn't take a turn to cook. I do still pull the chef since I'm taking saucecrafting for MoMs and stat potions.

I'm actually not a fan of the grim mask for dowsing if you have to pull the mask. I prefer to pull a scrip for a compass and pull a killing jar (2 pulls instead of 1 pull and 4 turns [5 turns for silver coins - 1 turn saved meeting gnasir]). Any turns it takes to find worm riding pages beyond 15 are wasted exploration in either case, so the 15 exploration for the killing jar is comparable to the difference between the dowsing rod and compass.
I don't usually go for the stone rose in softcore due to the delay.

For the hidden city:
Like you, I start in the office, banish the janitor (and lawyer if possible) and head to the apartments. However, instead of going back to the office, I like to go do the hospital and bowling alley after the apartment is done to try to get through those zones while the pansgiving banish is in effect. I'd rather that banish run out when I just have the last bit of the office left since those are scheduled noncombats anyway.
Another trick to maximize your chance to finish the bowling alley before the panstbanish runs out is to closet bowling balls as they drop.

Finally, there's the question of class. I did AT for my first picky run, mainly because I wasn't sure how low skill combat would go as a seal clubber (no tao/hide/etc). However, talking with Phil, he said he wasn't having any trouble, so I just jumped into a seal clubber run and if anything it's even easier due to the big health buffer. I expect batter up is going to pay off big starting from level 11, not dumping turns into the sleazy alley is great, and really the only thing I'm giving up from AT is Polka of Plenty.

Anyway, just food for thought. Good luck if you try another!

One thing you do lose by going seal clubber is the portable cassette player
