In clan ascension leaderboards!

Post by TrueEeviL » Thu Apr 05, 2007 10:30 pm

It's that time again! Time to show off your skills (or lack thereof), and see your name in bright lights. So I say: with a quiet nod to the historical great runs below, time to start bragging about what we've done lately.

Cool feature! Interesting how as far as HC runs go, we have so few in-Ronin HCB and HCO runs. Of course, HCO may be due to positioning to lead-in to a subsequent speed run -- my 11 day, 902 turn run was actually 9 days, 510 turns to break the prism. I just hung around 2 more days farming to line up to the double Moxie days.

Hmm, I'm afraid I don't quite see your domination of our HCB boards. So, I think perhaps you mean that you dominate our HC no-drinking boards. (Let's see how fast Hobo Boy can go in a HCB run!)

I like how I'm near the bottom in terms of # of HC ascensions...and yet only doggie and scorpionX have faster HCNP runs than me. Time to catch up, guys!

Stupid one dayers, if not for them I'de have complete control of the softcore no path boards. I might have to get one of my own, aswell as a decent booze run to split up the domination Lordhades15 has at the top of those boards.

Thanks for keeping these leaderboards up, it's nice to see where I stand. Stupid one dayers...

Haha, I have a dislike for them in 99% of cases. Givign me the fastest run in clan is the other 1%. I might go for another one off at the end of the month to improve my weak 350 turns.

Also, I am coming for you. I plan to use every stat day as a speed run (except for that 1st muscle day, college open house). So that gives me 4 tries to work on new stratagies and get into the 230's by my birthday on the 17th.

You steped your game up a level, now it's my turn to try

Don't go thinking you're the only one trying to beat my record. I've also got 4 speed attempts lined up, skipping the myst day. I'm also sure LordHades will be pretty big competition come moxie days, HCB lead in should help bring down his booze run turncount to be competitive with teet.

Gah! I should have been able to break the 230 turn mark over these muscle days. Only 6 lourves and a long hedge maze (8 puzzles stolen and I got beat up once forgetting I had a crimbo item on instead of my shield) destroyed my chance at beating 230 right at the end of the run. Guess i'll have to settle with lowering the bar by a single turn.

Hopefully the rng won't burn you or LordHades in the same annoying way it did to me.

Edit: Aww... Missed hitting the fastest 2-day run with 100% sombrero useage by only 2 turns.

252 here. Not grat RNG, but cant complain. 22 turns in the valley and no tiki lighter did me in.

On the plus side the Ballroom/cleesh potion thing works great. I was able to hit the quartet at level 6. I feel like I got 2-3 more louvres then normal, but then again I usualy get about 6 as is >_>

Toss out the hockey sticks and let's see what your run times look like.

And don't tell me about Ek's sub 230 teflon, that's merely an RNG love abberation.

Also, your HC boards? I bet we're quite competitive there.

A board populated by less than 10 people in a supposedly speedy clan of 40 some isn't very impressive.

Unlike some clans I can think of, HoD isn't focused merely on speed ascending. ;)

Hey now, we're rapidly growing into a very social clan. Even occasionaly have some in-clan competitions and other fun activities, and there will be plenty more to come. For only being a couple of months old, I think what we have is pretty impressive. 8)

Just broke that clan 2-day speed record again by another whole turn... Should have made it down to sub-230 turns except I fucked up on day 1, not summoning snowcones or candyhearts hurt the run pretty hard in the chasm. Even with this fuck-up I was looking good for about 230 turns when it took 30 turns for the wheel adventure to appear in the castle giving me only one stat adventure.

The end of the run almost killed me. I hit the chamber with 69 muscle, no donation meat left and 235 turns played. To get that muscle point I smashed up everything that could produce a wad including my star weapon to get 3 wads into my spleen filling it. I then had to drop path, drink 3 calle de miel's followed by two imp ales to get the point. I'll miss out on a front page placing on the softcore teet leaderboards for this but saving one turn was totally worth it.

Edit: Fuck! I only had one star cross-bow in storage. Why the hell did I only have one in storage! With this and the lack of lead-in it's not even worth attempting another speed run over these moxie days.

*dances around*

HA! Finally scored that teflon alltime board spot! :D

That was due, given how many times I tried.

*dances around*

EDIT: I just checked, that was the 11th fastest 2-dayer ever done. Damn, almost made the general alltime board.

Awesome run Flolle. Beat my best by 3 turns. I haven't got time to make an attempt over muscle days but come moxie days and the HoD contest I should be able to take the fastest spot in this clan again... Assuming nobody else gets faster.

Yeah, I don't like my chances either.

Thanks Sinshlad, and I hope you get an awsome run in too. Of course I hope I get an even better run then, but that's a given in this clan. ;)

But I think the fastest ascension will be in lordhardes' hands from now on. Or are you going to try the secret tech too?

Great! In all seriousness, thanks for doing this!

(Even better, you ran it at a time when Vlad was out visiting AFHk or something, so he's off the boards. :D )

Does this record only the ascensions done while in the clan? For example, I just joined yesterday afternoon, and I have the fourth fastest HCO run (on the 'one run per board' list). Do I have to wait until my next ascension for it to be creidted to a board, or did I just narrowly miss the udpate?

It takes a "snapshot" of the clan at that very moment, so you just have to be in AFH when TrueEevil does the update. Thus, VladimirPootin doesn't show up on the current link, because he happened to be visiting some other clan (probably AFHk).

It's all ascensions you've done, so once Evil gets around to reupdating the boards, you'll be on em.

That would be pretty awesome, although it really is just an extra bonus if he has the time. If I happen to get a sub-ronin HC run before NS13 (very possible) then that in itself will be enough of an accomplishment for me :D

Humm.. Secret tech failed, but I think the reasons were two fold.

Worst RNG since plethora contest. 32 friar, 19 tavern, 9 hedge maze, and 35+ crypt are a few highlights. That destroyed my Moxie. I finished hit the hedge maze at 67/62/104.

The second is simple. Too much offstats, I subconsiously was thinking I was a muscle class, so yeah, I didnt get 450 per louvre.

Looking forward to the next moxie day though.

Softcore boards (including your abstract pictures Darth) need to be updated to include Quantumnightmare's 324 turn run. Pretty good for someone who spends most of their time in hardcore and dosen't have access to sticks.

I'm starting to thing i'll never take a shot at a one-dayer, they just don't interest me.

Yeah, welcome to the club. 1-dayers seem like a waste of meat to me. 3 Airs, up to 5 SBW's, 1 lotus and all for just one run.

Im thinking the opposite.
I might start doing them every week or two regularly. I got to tower 3 with bad RNG, no scarf and no hardcore leadin. As for cost, 3 air 1 SBW and 1 lotus is abotu equal to a pair of muscle runs anyway.

Get all your 1 dayers in now. According to Jick on the main forums, he's shooting for NS13 in about 6 weeks!

Last run I used 0 SBW...

Hey! I'll note my 224 was teflon. And also, my last 1-dayer didn't use hockey sticks, just one. Several other of the 1-dayers were teflon, also. :P

Also I agree, 1-dayers are too frustrating to really bother with, but I needed at least one that wasn't embarassing. I probably won't pick up a teet one, because I'm lazy.

Yeah, seems like a complete waste of meat to me too. But why not go for it, eh. Considering the airs came from a lead-in I was doing anyways and were going to be used, the run cost me 825k in whiskey and loti. Throw in another 200k for loti I bought just in case, but have sitting in hangks. That's quite a bit of meat, but I don't think it even begins to compare to running speed softcore on a consistent basis.

But you already had a 1-dayer then. If I would go for one, I would take the safe route and use whiskeys.

I know, but your post practically begged for the fishcake joke. ;)

On the cost-topic:
I probably should have stated another - for me even stronger - reason why I will not go for a 1-dayer from the beginning. Although the cost for a 1-dayer in itself is about equivalent to that of two speed 2-dayers, you have to consider that you can farm inbetween those muscle- and moxiedays (neglecting myst runs, but those aren't on par anyway), whereas for a 1-dayer you need a leadin and thus cannot farm. This farming-speed run-farming-loop actually turns me a profit every month, so I'm quite content to stay with it. The one thing which might brake this habit is a try for 2-day SCO, but that's only because the SCO-alltime leaderboard is relatively easy to get on.

On second thought, I think I will brag a bit. Either darth's leaderboard repository is very outdated for teflon 1-day runs (which it probably is), or my run was #6 fastest, teflon. Looks like that board will need to be cleaned up, seeing how I didn't even make the 60 day leaderboards! Either that, or stick use has greatly expanded in 1-day attempts, which is possible.

That really surprizes me, I could have sworn the bottom of that board was at 334 just a moment ago. Lot's of fairly fast one dayers recently, only a 4 turn gap between 3rd and 10th.

Also, bwahaha! Istari missed Mr. Bills run by only a single turn. That's gotta burn.

I can picture it now. Mr Bill drops by the HoD forums, leaving behind some graffiti all over the in-clan leaderboards saying "I'm still #1, do you hear me!"...all the while muttering something about buying jick off with daily sacrifices of stasis-free virgins and hockey sticks, making sure istari never gets the RNG to beat 285.

We don't speak about it. The RNG and I are not on friendly terms at all. I had a small amount of good luck, a lot of average, and then some flaming crap. :P

Either darth's leaderboard repository is very outdated for teflon 1-day runs (which it probably is), or my run was #6 fastest, teflon.

It should be accurate.

Also, thanks to you, the teflon 1-dayer board is ENTIRELY SAUCEROR BUAHAHA! The true myst class wins. Sucky Pastamancers = pwnt.
